Prisms Of Ink

Prisms Of Ink

A Poem by Samantha ~virginpoet

Taste the Wet
of my Ambition
let the Authentic Oral
of my Color Penetrate your Core

Full of Wails and Woes my Heart
is Secluded seeking Satisfaction
but Thriving in the Misery of Solitude

Reflecting my Emotions
Yet squeezing Pains Existence
Wishing to Fill Such a Void

The Flow of Desires
of Thoughts
of Heartaches
Rush Forward
S-p-l-a-s-h
S/p/i/l/l/i/n/g
onto the
Empty Canvas

Penned Intimately
Releasing emotion
before it Consumes me

As now my Blue Words
Refract Prisms Of Ink

Liquidating my own Soul's Refrains
I dwell in a place for the fools
lost in sorrow were lovers and losers
lament long and wallow

I open 10,000 eyes to you

As I Expressed
in Word and Deed
the Burning Depths
of my Need

Heart full
of Embers
that Burned
and Flamed
like the Sun

Slowly lay Dying
by the Wayside

I used the line "I open 10,000 eyes to you'' from a movie called Beautiful Ohio actually from a poem in the movie. That one line inspired my work thanks for reading and reviewing.

The poem from the movie is below...

Courage, Love
The quiet I keep on the thin path
to the meadow is the hardest.
The sound of your talk below
and wind in the trees
is an oracle, our future now.
I'm caught beneath the tilt of maples
and cry of difference between
ten-thousand things;
leaf and stone,
wind and grass,
Me, You.
How could I live without you my love,
even for an afternoon?
When the sun comes up
I open ten-thousand eyes to you,
when it sets I open ten thousand more.
I am remembering and watching you at the same time.
Do not miss me when I am gone, my true and only friend,
do not even think of me, I could not bear to know it

The image of oral pleasure was blended with the pain of unfulfilled longing and the heat the burns like embers but only consumes itself... 'lost in sorrow were lovers and losers'... Fine flow of words, the alliteration wetting our imaginations and encompassing the reader like a lovers kiss... or... *smiles*

oh my samantha this is outrageously good it has a dark undertone but still romantically laced I love the way it was written and the flow just awesome and heartfelt the beauty of your metaphors are outstanding and I think that's incredible the intensity you bring is otherworldly this is heart breaking in several ways I'd just say that in my opinion real poets should never mask their feelings, not even by pride or to make people see them in one way or another otherwise what's the point of being a writer and you my friend hold nothing back you take the mask off in your writing and I dearly love you for that

"Liquidating my own Soul's Refrains
I dwell in a place for the fools
lost in sorrow were lovers and losers
lament long and wallow"

so sad and beautiful at the same time
that was my favorite stanza

very nice, another one that seems to roll right off the tongue, and captures the readers attention and does not let him go till he or she is done reading the piece.
thank you for sharing.

The emotions well up and spill out, onto this page...Sensual in the beginning, building momentum for a spectacular end... Well done, Samantha! :)
