Forward Unto NothingA Poem by Ian FarawayA wandering soul is an eerie thing. Will you accompany me As I walk endlessly On this stoned path? The echoes of my Footsteps are all That keep me company As I walk Forward Unto Nothing
Will you forgive me As I get lost On this dark path? The blindness of This journey leaves me Scared and unsure Even so, I must go Forward Unto Nothing
It seems I've spent More than a life Walking, almost stumbling On this path Trying to find meaning For this old, weary soul Alone I go on Forward Unto Nothing
Please don't laugh As I trip over stones That stand in my way For each fall Kills me inside I will slowly rise And drag on Forward Unto Nothing
Please don't yell When I go down A darker path For the silence Deafens me so My ears bleed Quivering my eyesight, I go Forward Unto Nothing
For you reading this You are as I am A soul wandering through Numerous paths searching For the same thing A purpose Until then, we march Forward Unto Nothing
And as you wander You might meet a stranger One who will accompany This journey with you Maybe they are your purpose Most journey alone Searching and drifting aimlessly Forward Unto Nothing
Nothing that will ever be found Until the last breath Is drawn In the loneliness That is our journey Our 'life' © 2012 Ian Faraway |
