Once Upon A Time

Once Upon A Time

A Poem by Ian Faraway

I have placed these weak hands

Upon ancient stones made of strong ones

And I wondered

Did someone place their hands

Exactly where mine was

Once upon a time?

I have collapsed wearily in a meadow

Where a river was near and mountains towered

And I wondered

Did someone enjoy such simplicity

Resting in a meadow like I did

Once upon a time?

My worrisome eyes look at the night sky

Searching for answers to impossible questions

And I wondered

Did someone else search in the night

For the answer to the same question

Once upon a time?

We are all different

We are all the same

Even through time

We are all connected

Its not the difference in others

But the similarities we should see

I like the logic in the poem.
'We are all different
We are all the same
Even through time

I agree with the above statement. We are all connected. People need to understand. Every life is important. Thank you for the excellent poem.
