My mIStake

My mIStake

A Poem by Ian Faraway
"

For an assignment for American Lit, I had to write a poem in the style of E.E. Cummings. Lemme know what you think.

"

i the kid

who plays

trips

runs

who laughed

at My Mistakes

i the teen

who learns

hides

grows

who cried

at My miStake.

i the young adult

who stress

(sighs)

groans

who flinches

at my Mistakes

i the adult!

Who works

pays.

Sleeps

who overreacts

at My mistakes

i the elder

who rests

guides

enjoys

who learned

from, my Mistakes.

Bravo Ian!! I believe this is your best so far!... what an awesome assignment...

This is cleverly written within an emotional timeline of life, as one ages...

P.S. I was especially intrigued by your play on words.. Well done!~xoxo~:)
