Damn This Mind

Damn This Mind

A Poem by Ian Faraway
"

Sometimes, it's just hard to write about thoughts and feelings

"
It feels like life times have passed
Since my pen has felt paper
The scratches and smooth movement
Seem almost foreign to me
I could never quite tell
If I ran out of things to say
Or if my words limited
The ways to express my thoughts
What should I write of now?
A lonely heart drowning in a sea?
A confused mind lost in the fog?
Or maybe another cliché?

Would it help if I added in a little rhyme
And speak of nonsense
Like the value of a quarter to a dime?
Would the idea come to me then?
Or would it simply fade in time
Like the faces of all men?
Either way this paper is blank
And hands cradle this unused pen

Are my ideas and imagination too big
To convey onto this perfect piece of parchment?
Or did I run out of things to say?

Damn this confused mind of mine.
