Love's Journey

Love's Journey

A Poem by Ian Faraway
"

Again a metaphor but happier

"

Love seems to be

A miracle worker

A mysterious figure

Standing alone in the shadows

Accompany the stranger

Stand beside it

Not reluctantly, but proudly

Don’t be afraid to be kind

An unknown face

Covered in the shadows

Of society

Scared to unfold it’s beauty

A hilly, dark road

You befriend love

Take it by the hand

Unafraid of what may come

Quicken the pace

As love quivers and shakes

When you pass the fogs of lust

Keep love alive

Cover love with your coat

When it rains

You may suffer now

But love will return the favor

You carry love

Love carries you

But do not take it for granted

For the friendship is fragile

Love lives

Love breaths

Love lights our path

When we enter times of darkness

Don’t forget love

For love will remember you

When everything seems lost

Love will come and find you

To live for one purpose

To go through a rare adventure

With someone such as love

It is a life well spent
