Living in the night

Living in the night

A Poem by Colin Miller

Surrounded in a sea of darkness

A maze of colored walls stands in your way

Looking for an escape

Time has gone by too quickly

Time,

Where has the time gone?

You’re not ready to quit

Keep going

In the distance

Light,

The way out

You step through the small frame

Your feet are tired so you find somewhere to sit

A man comes into view and greets you with a smile

Good morning, he says

Morning?

Is it really morning already

Where has the time gone?

The short lines, I think, add to this sort of confusing feeling that's been alluded to a number of times in the poem itself. It's a good effect and I think you have a good grasp of what kind of style to use. The content is really great too, it shows that time goes by so fast and that it's something we don't really notice passing by (and it's especially relatable in our day and age).

Deep. This poem is really reassuring! Especially the lines where you say "You're not ready to quit. Keep going." I see this poem as being the color black >:) Gr8 job
