..and you ask me why I grieve

..and you ask me why I grieve

A Poem by Wael Rafik
"

Gothic poem

"
Stand in line embrace the atrocity
Dwelling deep in your concience
We clutch to memories barely
Humanity is a stain in existence

Immortality is a question of belief
While death is a welcomed relief
How can you drown your sorrow,
When you can't see beyond tomorrow

Time is dead I mourn no more
..and you ask me why I grieve
A nomad in my own domain
..and you ask me why I grieve

swimming againts the flow
in the endless oceans of desperation
I dream of home where my heart
no more lives in desolation

A place where daylight will always be
and the sun never sets
A place where your dreams are set free
and clouds rain with no regrets

Time is dead I mourn no more
..and you ask me why I grieve
A nomad in my own domain
..and you ask me why I grieve

This seems to address directly the status of life today. "Immorality is a question of belief" indeed. People make up their own codes according to what they believe and pass it off as what should be. It takes a lot to look at those around us and not feel weighed down. I also love the line "A nomad in my own domain". To be at home, so to speak, but never able to settle down. Great use of words.
