A New Journey

A New Journey

A Poem by Peaches

I don't know where
But somewhere back there
I made a wrong turn
Forgot what I'd learned
I'm turning around
With my feet on the ground
Got a long way
Better start out today

I'm pacing myself
Take the weights off the shelf
I won't miss the chance
I'm gonna dance
It's coming right back
Feet pounding the track
My heart is in sync
With a new way to think

It's a long road ahead
I could face it with dread
But there's so much to see
And so much to be
So I'm not giving in
I'm gonna win
Come along for the ride
Together we'll glide

I'm waking up to the rhythm inside...

That's it! The heart speaks with the most passion and optimism;
then you are the sun, and your life will be rewarded with the greatest purpose
and deepest smile all the way from the deepest part of your soul;
without it, and with pessimism, would not be a smile, or light; only darkness, and no love,
and certainly not this poem.

This is a very beautiful and awe-inspiring painting of the colorful hope within that smile.

I've been writing forever it seems. I don't remember exactly when I began but by the time I was eight I had started a collection. I have even got some of those poems and stories still tucked away, to .. more..
