Love to Last a Lifetime

Love to Last a Lifetime

A Poem by Peaches
"

For My Dad ... RIP

"

He sits reclined in the old chair,

Just an old man, in old man clothes.

Then he smiles, and a young man

With all the hopes and dreams

Of all that is yet to come

Shines in his eyes.

Now he sleeps,

Breathless and still.

The echo of that sweet smile

Lingers still in the silence,

Like a beacon of hope

It rings for those that hear.

Night closes around

And a lonely ache settles

To close off all hope,

Except for the warmth of the smile

That lingers still

To enfold in it's loving arms.

About
I've been writing forever it seems. I don't remember exactly when I began but by the time I was eight I had started a collection. I have even got some of those poems and stories still tucked away, to .. more..
