Death

Death

A Poem by Wild Thunder
"

A poem about the most grim subject with a twist. Is death really so bad?

"

Working day and night the reaper of souls glides
Red eyes gazing down from heavenly skies
Across the universe his arms can reach
People fear him, they don’t want to die
Pain fills the heart he controls
Eternal darkness is where he rests
Dreaming of a day where all people will embrace him as he carries all souls to their fate

Inside the arms of an angel
Nearing the end as the blood starts to run cold

Darkness is all I see as all the colors are slowly sucked away
Ending life now is just the beginning
Anything I once thought was forever soon seems pointless
The room slowly fades away
Heat that once warmed by body turned into a cold chill
Sends shivers down my spine as he says

Believe in me, I want to take you home
Listen to me, I will lead the way
And don’t forget  its going to be ok
Come with me, fear not because I will keep you safe
Kingdoms gates are open, now let me carry you away

Feeling the warmth of his bony arms
Enveloped in his arms
Against his body I am held close
Then I am lifted into the air
Heading up to the sky I will go
Ending my existence on earth
Revealing a world so beautiful
Young filled of life and love again

Wrapped in Death’s black feathery wings
Inside the darkness I will sleep
Nestled against his chest
Going home
Soaring high into heavens gates I will go
