Walls, Windows and a Door

Walls, Windows and a Door

A Poem by willweb

Walls, standing silent, hushed

absorbing the sorrow felt,

locking it in place with this emptiness

Windows - beyond holding

lonely streets in two lane nightmares,

asphalt stained with memories

A door, never again

will you knock on it, your smile

through the peep hole has been erased

I will not hear your laugh,

see your face, our eyes beaming,

never again hold you to my skin

No goodbye,

no warning, at least that I noticed

or wanted to find

Now just walls, windows, and a door,

all that is left to hear me,

as I weep alone in tears of -

how much I'll miss you, forever

terrific metaphor in this...used to be "our house" now it is just an empty building, an empty heart.
