The Chalice in Light of the Day

The Chalice in Light of the Day

A Poem by willweb

I drink from the chalice

in light of the day,

a goblet of crystal

on endless display

Where moonbeams and rainbows

sing songs in the sand

and sunflower meadowlarks

walk hand in hand

When happiness touches

each mountain I climb

of heart beat concertos

in three quarter time

Till clouded sky warriors

reach out for the prize,

then fall to their knees

as the sun starts to rise

I savor the tea leaves

in herbal delight

In hopes that the wrongs

now become every right

To take in the distance

that I’ve come to know,

if only a dream

where my heart tends to go

I follow the pathway

of jasmine and rose,

where love is the garden

that forever grows

With now my thirst quenched

by this journey so new

My chalice in light of the day

it is you

OH MY....Will, your romantic poetry is just too pretty for description! The words are lilting and lovely. They flow easily and the rhyme is unforced. My favorite stanza is this one:

"Where moonbeams and rainbows
sing songs in the sand
and sunflower meadowlarks
walk hand in hand"

The stuff fairy tale romance is made of. Delightful! Lydi**

Thank you Ana. I can tell you if it wasn't, it is now because of your wonderful words.
Yet another romatic offering that is paced at a jaunty 'angle' and trots along like a lover in spring.
