Blurred Circles

Blurred Circles

A Poem by willweb
"

Inspired by Ana Sophia's poem, "Sam's"

"

Waxing poetic

in spun vinyl whispers

Released on off beat labels

with unknown names

Rotating in blurred circles

of dance beat delusions

where old 45’s

go to play...

Care to take a spin?

oh those 45s .. how much did they cost? $.25-50?? .. one of my friends back then (names Cloud .. and for good reason;) he had stacks of 45s at his bedside .. three feet in height .. no jackets .. and could find anything you wanted to hear within three tries or less .. he use to bath them in the tub as a loving father .. way outside my ken ;) thanks for the inspirational reminiscing! checking the link now and thank you for that as well..

ps. the link says unpublished and i found Ana has moved on ;( do you know more?

willweb, The use of the 45 metaphor spinning on the turntable colors this entire work with a picture of round-and-round, a circle, unbroken. The inviting ending ("Care to take a spin") makes the reader more involved, inviting them into your thought process. Great job in creating that connection. take care...dan

Yes… please.

Did you know vinyl is making a comeback? Recording artists prefer the depth of layered sound you cannot get in digital recording.
