Blurred Circles

Blurred Circles

A Poem by willweb
"

Inspired by Ana Sophia's poem, "Sam's"

"

Waxing poetic

in spun vinyl whispers

Released on off beat labels

with unknown names

Rotating in blurred circles

of dance beat delusions

where old 45’s

go to play...

Care to take a spin?

You're very welcome:)
Vinyl was such a rare treat when I was working at the record store.
There were only a few pieces released as limited edition items for those rare collectors.
I miss that sound though. An old boy friend used to collect vinyl and go searching garage sales etc.
It just has such a different feel to the sound. :)
I'm glad my poem inspired you. I think when it comes to loving music we are kindred spirits.

Well, even though we called it a record store we pretty much only sold CD's. :)

Thanks so much. I am happy you enjoyed this.
Will, I have fond memories, of digging through Sam's, on Yonge St, as a kid (well, teenager), looking for the latest imports, from Britain, of my favourite bands. Rushing house, to play them, on the family recorder player, after inserting that funny yellow thingee, in the 45 or listening to 12 inch mix releases, before CDs changed everything.

Your welcome, Will. And vinyl is making a comeback, these days.

As long as its not on couches and chairs, then I am fine with it making a comeback. :)

Gross, warm vinyl seating, in cars. Still, got the burn marks, as a kid.
I feel sorry for the kids now that only have the mp3 players on their phones and tablets - there was nothing better than the feel of the vinyl and the giant gate fold album covers with their Easter eggs - finding something new everytime we gazed at the covers - until they got all dog-eared and worn. The old Dansetta suitcase turntable and the pops and clicks of the record under the needle. Great memories Will - thanks for sharing this
