The pathway did bend

The pathway did bend

A Poem by willweb

~

Stood on a path between

morning and night,

watching as clouds filled the sky

Asking the breeze as it

flowed now in spite,

what is the reason I cry

Shouted in echoes that rang

through the land,

hoping some joy would be found

Longing for someone

to offer a hand,

praying, my knees on the ground

And then I saw her,

 a smile divine,

eyes of the faintest light blue

Chardonay whispers

of euphoric wine,

now at a table for two

Though there were miles

and hours apart,

happiness played on the hill

Moments of sharing

and touching the heart,

warmth in the face of the chill

Since then, I knew my

direction would change,

once straight, the pathway did bend

No longer lonely,

I now rearrange,

thankful that you are my friend

The sentiment of this poem is beautiful. The rhyme scheme is excellent. I will say that some more intention regarding italics and punctuation could make this even more impactful, but on the whole this is a lovely piece.

A beautiful write in such rhyme and meter that carried me on as if in the arms of a dear love. Beautiful Will

Another nicely done piece although, I notice that it doesn't appear, at least at first glance, to be a detective mystery!!
Hmmmm....))

Ah Ha!
It really is the small kindnesses. Ah, to love and friendship

Thanks a bunch John.
You sure don't. I don't know if this is a prayer answered or a wish granted, but it seems to have some at just the right time. I wonder how long she is going to remain just a friend.
