Seriously

Seriously

A Poem by Amy Whetzell
"

no idea when I wrote this, but obviously it was a good day to be conceited :)

"

Give me a little inspiration

And I'll show a lot of talent

I'm not conceited or self-absorbed

but I know how to make a good thing damn great.

Seriously, read what I've written

It doesn't take a genius

to know we've got something here

People get feelings, yeah it happens

They say there are no words

That's where I come in

I put into words that which others cannot

Should I be filled with conceit?

Should I believe myself to be better than you?

You, the reader, who did not write this

Should I call myself better than you?

If I should, then why??

Why can't we just be equals?

I bet you have a voice and you use it well

I don't, so are you then better than I?

Pay no attention to the girl behind the curtain

Because she is not there, just her words

My truth is not spoken

My truth is in my written words.
