Hey Stranger

Hey Stranger

A Poem by Amy Whetzell
"

This is for Milky, wherever he may be today

"

I love the way he looked at me
as I walked down the aisle towards him
nervous as all
and though he was working,
he never took his eyes off me.
I couldn't bear to look away
for fear he may disappear, or perhaps I.

As we sat down for breakfast
he managed to look everywhere,
at everyone but me.
But I really enjoyed his company
And even now it feels like a dream.
If IHOP was just a dream
I look forward to sleeping again.

When the time came,
as I knew it would eventually,
to pay and leave
he wouldn't let me pay.
I've pondered this endlessly
Does this make it a date
or confirm it was just a dream?
