Human Nature

Human Nature

A Poem by Winterwriter101

Human Nature

We have evolved from apes to grapes

We have lost what made us human

We have changed into a species who murders and rapes

One who never cares what we could’ve done

We are one of the few who hurt for pleasure

One of the few whose weaknesses we treasure

Our lives were once about survival, but has evolved to become something much less

Our lives were once about being part of nature, but has evolved to become something we now have to asses

We see ourselves as better than everyone else

We are selfish, condescending and loose our minds over the most microscopic of things

Is this the ideal that we treasure so very much?

Is this the superious we have named ourselves to be?

We need to rethink

Is this really what being human means?
