Wrong

Wrong

A Poem by Tiny Drop

Amidst the fire breaking out
An ember survived
Burnt and disgraced, it flamed up
From within the ashes
It wonders where all went wrong?
Could it be the reason,
It wonders
Despite not knowing any better.
The flames die down
Silently in a whisper
They wonder, were they the reason?
The fireplace resigned shrugs
It understands not
The flames' fiery designs
It wonders lonely when the fine china
Will finally leave its shoulders
Because they feel like boulders
Dragging it down
As the fire is put out
And the only doubt remaining
Is who was the reason?
Was it the ember, the fire or the chimney?
In the end, all that is left is coldness
And the memories of a warm wild fire.
