Fighting the Night

Fighting the Night

A Poem by
"

I'm not usually one for poetry, but I hope you enjoy all the same.

"
And so we find ourselves here again
This dark and quiet room
Don't let the starlight leek through the curtains
Nor the night light's bulb grow dim

Please stay awake with me for now
Until the sun brings dawn
And share our secrets with the hands of the clock
To pass these long hours

I can hear your breathing slow
It grows heavy with sleep
So I am left alone to fight the dark by myself, just me,
To keep our promise of tomorrow
