~ The Reciprocal

A breath faster than light...

Thoughts are not always there to follow

Each soul, so variously yet contemplating

The past is always with us,

Through thoughts, visions, and dreams

Nowhere aware, and letting in;

The nothingness of time,

A pleasure to see her Reciprocal;

Disguised can run as words,

Even on wet streets of our inside edges

Of the so pre-birthed soul

They are or have been, here for sure,

They cannot be denied;

No, not anymore, it's there,

You see through the eyes

Of the viewer, the seer,

And taste the iron of

Their ancient blood

A mystical evening light,

As soft as fog,

Just reflected her legs,

She was in her thirties,

And wore those typical twenties shoes,

Now on her walk to her forties,

She didn’t know she lost ten years…

The tram rails shone like her eyes,

As she looked through her vision,

Amsterdam, was a refuge, to her French heart,

Between soul and prosperity she lived…

Nowhere, alive in her Reciprocal,

Breathing and bathing the rain of time

As for times, in time disbelief grew,

Through the veins of the living

Over many years, hearts, and souls

This street didn’t change;

Only the traffic did, and killed her

A fragment faster-

To me this seems like a story about a woman whose unpleasant memories biuld up so high they kill her. Although you can forget things, it is all on its own. You can't choose what to forget. And often, it is the things that we want to forget that stays with us the longest. Too much traffic on the streets of any mind is enough to kill it...

We each sit on an illusionary event horizon generated by consciousness, but at the speed of light, past, present, and future all merge into one. Below the speed of light past and future become haunting ghost created by an illusionary slight of hand within consciousness. At times, some people momentarily break out of that identity crisis created by this illusion. Sometimes past, present, and future scramble so as to break the back of this illusion, and it's at that moment that we know who we really are. As an example: Think of your life as a motion picture film reel. You may experience your life as one frame at a time or take a glimpse at your entire reel. An optical illusion helps us make sense of a reel of film. The three Fates weave the thread of our being into a beautiful tapestry, but all most people are ever aware of is an increment of thread. Consciousness is a magician, a trickster.

The atmosphere of this poem is like entering a room of a house you owned lifetimes ago, a sort of deja vu feeling but you never know, rebirth is something that is a mystery to the living. The mutual respect we have for time as it has for us, it can be cruel and it can be beautiful but time will tell that tale all we have to do is respect the story it has for us. Your thought process and conceptual ideas are unique and always very captivating to read its quite alluring to the reader and truly exceptional

Wow. You really carried me on an amazing journey here. You know what is so interesting? When you look at the past, things we have done or been through don't live again. What really survives is how we felt about them. It could be 10 years or a lifetime, A country, a town, a neighborhood, or a street, but the flicker is our emotions transmitted by memory. Superb! -Nihad

You really know how to 'paint' a picture. The music, photography and of course the poetry are all top notch.

I like the afterimage theme of this, where an impression of the past reoccurs in a ghost like way. The photo above seems to imply that it has picked up something the naked eye never could. I like the font, as though typed in the 1930s or 40s, it gives this poem a great feel and atmosphere.

Hahaha.... ;) funny you! x
first line...should be "breath"

but wow what an eerie scene painted here---she is a ghost walking the streets...she is the past...
the traffic of life killed her...a fragment faster than the sentence she tried to complete.
"the wet streets of our inside edges"

only you come up with such phrasing..

you have such a poetically inclined mind.
