~ And Still

And still, I had so much to ask,

But I was not and am never allowed,

There are flying a thousand questions

Above the temple of my head,

They mostly fly around midnight

And often they land on mornings,

With the pleasure of the transparent

Wind that does turn the

Compass of my heart ~

Let me forget them for a while;

For they bring me headaches;

Like the hot sun can give you too ~

But always they return,

Like little teasing feathers;

When I do not expect them.

For there are so many questions I didn’t ask,

For there are too many; I must bury still,

In full acceptance, of this life ~

Is it right, that we still are wondering why?

And probably forever will?

For there is a way to pain and suffering

Is it fair? I never got the chance?

Or maybe: “I didn't take it”?

It will remain a big question mark

Even I don’t have an answer to.

For now, I think, my lips are sealed

Poisoned with black ink through my mouth;

Silver needles, crossed them,

And did let love bleed silently forever

For it never dies

So fertile it is…

On this moment;

I fly above the dark caves,

Wishing to land,

But I’m learning to enjoy, how hurt can be

A pleasure, for I’m not flying alone.

I'm not flying alone.

You are not alone. Your writing is such a gift. I have missed it so, and like the "Dia de Muerta" we celebrate the past forever with gratitude. I have been trying to settle. Things are well. This is so ingenious. The words are spoken carefully upon the paper, and even with ambiguity, it is still inherited with great intent by the reader. This place is a master of verbal music, much like the video you posted. Amazing work. You are so not in the dark. I have been thinking of you and this much lately. I had a single review after four months of not being active here and could not resist to read you. As I always will. Great work my dear! X

Dear Elisa, this is a very handsome piece indeed. I love how insightful this poem is, and that there is so much emotions behind your words. I could not agree anymore with Maryanne's comment that this is a very accurate portrayal of human nature, and how much we truly now sometimes.In my opinion, life is all about acceptance and adaptation, and I can really see that in the lines:

"But I’m learning to enjoy, how hurt can be
A pleasure, for I’m not flying alone.

I'm not flying alone."

Brilliant job--as usual :)

I'm really curious you know, of what you told me the last time :) ... so indeed yayyy!
Elisa, the emotion in your poem washes over me and carries me away. I float on the waters of sorrow as I feel the pain falling from the heavens. yet by counting each star I find my constellation glowing overhead, and I know I am not alone. For love still finds me in my weakened state and lifts me to the skies, so that I may soar within the splendor of the night...not alone. Very beautiful, I feel this on many avenues, it touches me and fills me with joy.

This was like a magical moment, looking each other into the eyes, dancing to the most romantic music the world has seen, dancing the magical salsa, embracing each others souls.. Like soaring the high sky, I can see her twist and twirl above ground the trust the dance has in partnership, no matter what happens in the world outside, on the dance floor we fly together. Two birds swaying to the breeze of harmony

I'm not flying alone."~ You are not alone, dearest Eli...

The question you "don't ask" are indeed a river of continuum. I too, submerge these growing questions and feel that the morning opens the door, making it rather transparent.

That is the beauty of your writing...you always have an engrained quest to evolve, whether you know or not.

There is a hopeful tone within the pain and sadness of this piece. Profound write!~xoxo~:)

I enjoyed this on a personal level. One of the greatest assets in any struggle is having someone stand by your side. So much stupid s**t can happen each day and some things just stick more than others, leaving you to dwell and sometimes experience them over and over mentally. It just adds a ton of heavy bricks to what you already carry. I do that a lot, it's probably the root of a lot of my problems. With all the ridiculousness and stupidity that happens you keep wanting to ask why but no answer can be found, and even then it is pointless considering how it is often people that are the root of the problems and asking them about it is like asking a sick person why they cough or sneeze. Some people are just worthless and too self centered to care, to them being a nuisance and pain to others is completely normal and so it is pointless to ask them why they are like that. Hence my desire to live alone on a private island completely cut off from everyone...
The poem itself is extremely well written, i think it is one of your best. Certainly one of my favorites. Coming home from a hellish workday and reading this is like aloe gel on a fresh bad sunburn. You are one of the very few people that can make me enjoy freestyle.

...unfortunately for me...I have always found through and True...if questions are there...there are hidden answers behind the ones given-so many times (plethora) I have blindly "accepted" while "hearing" questions...in the dark of the night...within a footfall...just to find out...I should have been more fervent in seeking answers...because somewhere along the line it comes back to affect and effect me in some manner-becoming blindside...The poem itself is of Grand Beauty and the cryptic placed does not steer away from it's shine-to KNOW one is not alone is truly a safety net of the best kind-to know one or many are akin or have Your back keeps the fall from becoming a plummet during harder times...Wonderful Deep Write Eli--don't stay around those dark caves too long :)

When we begin to look at what we actually know, we begin to realize how little we actually do know. And we begin to wonder endlessly with unconfined intrigue and anticipation. It's human nature:) This is a very thoughtful poem, my dear.
