~ My Orange Moon

Thou shone so bright,

The night of full moons, in me;

Shall I ever be upon these clouds

To follow thee?

Shall I be there, when it’s that day?

Where could we mourn better,

Than with our hands folded,

On these unexpected stairway’s?

And where could I be taken?

For the days, are more beautiful

When surrounded in grey’s,

Let me absorb you in my vast body…

To observe thee, in the most occult nights,

I embrace thee with my invisible sight

Thou shall not pass, the forlorn darkness

Before I was there, I knew your light--

It was so fast, and high,

I could reach out the scale of pain,

Just to reach your top, up there--

Let me dwell in the glance of thee, fain

From a distant relieve, I shall salute,

The longer passages of time so brute,

Now wait me, for time is blank in so many forms;

And color me, through these heavy chained storms

I often feel that your poetry should be declaimed from a high podium with all the relevant gestures by an exceptional actor with a voice like burnt whisky in period costume. This is no exception. A remarkable write full of rich layers and fruity phrases.

My astrological sign of Cancer refers to me as a "moonmaiden", a child of the moon. I've always been fascinated by it, and this poem definitely snared my attention. You are a poet by heart, Elisa...everything you pen has a way of moving your reader.

Such a lovely presentation, too. x

Dear Eli, you have an uncanny way of keeping everything in perspective...your reflections on all things life and beyond never fail to take my breath away...the slightest hints of darkness appear here and there but you fight them off with gentle but assertive imagery...the first stanza was incredibly moving, and it made me think of dear friends and relatives who have gone before me...after I read this poem once, I went back to that first verse and was close to tears...beautiful poetry from a beautiful person...love you sis :) xo

Enchanting was your beautiful work this morning my sweet friend. This poem is extremely appropriate to me as this morning of the full moon where I live I was greeted by a bright orange sphere amidst the stars, which in the past I have not seen in the setting moon. It was absolutely beautiful as is your dream-like poem today.
