A Summer's Flirtation

A Summer's Flirtation

A Poem by WritersBlock21

Green grass, blue skies and warm air.
Summer is here.
Black hair, brown eyes and a goofy grin.
You were where it begins.
Late night talks and a fluttering heart.
Your words were works of art.
Sandy toes and full moons light.
The first and last time you kissed me goodnight.
Autumn approaches and school back in session.
We both stay tight lipped with no confessions.
I didn't know what to call what we were,
But a summer's flirtation is what we are.

The imagery in the beginning of this...and then the story unfolds for the reader...and you tell us the fine details of Summer's past...and the ending fits well:

I didn't know what to call what we were,
But a summer's flirtation is what we are.

Summer romance, such a sweet thing. Nicely written.

This reminds me of my awkward teenage years. A 'rites of passage' kind of thing. I'm sure many other readers will have similar memories too. Thanks for sharing. ~ Robert.
