Flickers

Flickers

A Poem by WritersBlock21

It's like I've hit my head
And woke up in an upside down world with amnesia.
I receive flickers of my past,
As if looking at the mirror and finding something new.
But that's just it,
My past.
It's not something I can change,
Just look back on with unshed tears.
So I'll throw memories in a box labelled special thoughts,
And on a bittersweet day look back on them with a smile.
They're just flickers,
Tiny scenes of what was.
Maybe it's time I remember what is,
Before the past takes over my future.
