Light

We turn on a light
So that we can see
It light can mean hope
It can mean you are free
A light can bring comfort from darkness and fear
A light for the way can make everything clear.
But sometimes no matter how light it can be
A light's not enough to make everyone see
Sometimes the light's shining right in your eyes
But you choose to ignore
To pretend
To disguise.
There will always be sadness and fear and regret
When we close our eyes and we choose to forget
When we hide behind excuses
When we close our minds.
How can we see if we choose to be blind???
