Angels Exist

Angels Exist

A Chapter by Austin Wade Runyon

I've never known an angel
Whose wings were white as a cloud
Whose voice as celestial in sound
As her beauty profound
From my view from the ground
And turn my life around
I've never known an angel
And I think I never will
But that isn't to say they aren't real

My skill is not in poetry, so I don't know how helpful I can be here, however, I will try. I like how the beginning and end are echos of one another, it's a call back I enjoyed. Using the word 'from' twice in the fifth was a bit off-putting, perhaps you could try using a synonym? The hope and yet shadow that you capture in this handful of words is striking to me; I think it proves that one does not need a bunch of long fancy words to get their point across.

The flow of this one is just perfect. This might be one of the best I've read in this site, and also I appreciate the hope it emanates after the last two dark pieces.
