Your Fantasy

Your Fantasy

A Poem by Sara
"

Something I wrote to pass time at work.

"

Come my sweet child, I’ll sing you a fantasy.

I’ll blend you a tale of nonsense,

That your young mind will devour.

The innocence you carry will help you understand

What an adult will never make sense of.

But as you grow older, your knowledge will fade.

What you once understood will mean nothing.

The world I created from the depths of my heart and soul,

This little fantasy world that belongs to you and only you,

Will vanish.

No more silly characters to make you joyous;

No longer will the fantastical landscapes exist;

The world will be forever gone,

It will exist as a dark hole in the recesses of your mind.

But…

When the time comes,

Take that hole and fill it.

Fill it for the child you now have.

Create a new fantasy from both our minds.

Renew the innocence you once lost,

And extend your knowledge farther than you’ve ever gone.
