Here and Now

Here and Now

A Poem by J Harding

Your talk brings me laughter,

Your smile brings me hope.

For more than this friendship,

For more than this lie.

You say maybe, later, maybe,

I say here and now.

Eyes follow us across the street,

Eyes never leave our side.

They're all thinking what I'm thinking,

Are you with me?

You say maybe, later, maybe,

I say here and now.

So I sit here writing this,

So I sit here crying words.

Can't you see what's happening?

It's tearing me apart.

You say maybe, later, maybe,

I say here and now.

I give up, I'm leaving now,

I give up, you're lost to me,

You say maybe, later, maybe,

I say goodbye.

Crying words? I LOVE IT! That was such a powerful image for me, I think thats what a lot of us around these parts do, we take our emotions and instead of making our pillows wet we put them onto paper, at least we have something to show for our sadness hey? This was a lovely poem. I loved the end as it shows you have a lot of inner strength, you definately did the right thing by saying goodbye. A lovely write. Thanks for sharing.
