Stockholm

Stockholm

A Poem by Yahallo
"

You're no good for me but I stay with you. I'm your hostage but I think I love you. My take on Stockholm Syndrome.

"
I have been to Stockholm
Kinda cold
chill, fresh, breezy
The rest of the world
just across the sea
The whole time
the sky was gray
mixed with a bit of
blue,
Blue and
you

Everywhere I look
I see your extraterrestrial eyes
You don't belong here on the Earth
You deserve so much more
even if you think I'm not that smart
That's okay
I always agree with you

In the sea of fair skin
and fair, golden hair
you were a raven
with deadly eyes
that I fell in love with
nonetheless

Today you bruise my face
but I know,
tomorrow you'll kiss the same spot you injured
Today you tell me I annoy you
but I know,
tomorrow you'll laugh at my jokes
Today you hate on my flaws
but I know,
tomorrow you'll confess your endless love

I've always been an optimist
a dreamer
a hopeless romantic
Maybe that's why I love our tomorrow
more than our today

I fear no beast
I fear no monster
but the man behind your
mask
deserves an Oscar

I have a one-way ticket to the sunny Mediterranean
I'm thinking of going back
but the only home I've ever known
was in Stockholm with you
So I think I'll stay
at least until May
If it doesn't get warmer
and the ice doesn't melt
in Stockholm
(in your embrace)
(in your heart)
(in your words)
I guess I will have to go
