running away.

running away.

A Poem by Yahallo
"

When you can't accept some things, life, others, yourself...

"
oh, all the obligations,
and too high expectations.
i'll just go and take a walk
along the shore, always alone.

i throw the bills under the couch,
hoping they'll somehow disappear.
i'll just go to the noisy bar,
and become a drunktard.

the boss is always on my case.
my colleague is way too snarky.
i'll just have to beg for money
from my old disappointed mother.

be happy, be smart, be rich
i just am not.
i'll just leave a farewell letter,
and fall asleep in the waves.

Now this is the way to spoof those who may worry too much. I’m not a worrier myself, but many people are. And I bet they wish they could be like the narrator in your poem. You’ve used good details to show us this escapism pattern, both funny & serious. It’s like teaching us to laugh at our silly quirks, we all have some! I especially like the one about putting bills under the sofa . . . these are the fun aspects of an otherwise sad attitude! *smile* Fondly, Margie
