Fog

Fog

A Poem by Yahallo
"

What would happen if you were as addicted to me as I am to you?

"
When i breathe in
smoke
poisoned by nicotine
and other deadly things
i can't help
but
think of you

your steady breaths.
your strong grasp.
your fidgeting fingers.
your messed up hair.
your tongue clicking.

and when i breathe in
your smoke
poisoned by nicotine
and other scary things
i can't help
but
wish i were the cigarette
hanging loosely on your lips

i wish you'd need me that much every day,
i wish your mouth would breathe in every inch of my exposed skin,
i wish you'd turn to me when in trouble,
but that would be just an addiction,
not love, not a lover.

I love the structure of this. The visuals send you to that very special moment. The twilight between being and not being at all. Thank you for sharing your mind.
