Giving Away to Distance

Giving Away to Distance

A Poem by Lindon Slater

To utter the beauty--it is a mistake
I will never
for upon that whom I utter--it will bring great misfortune
and for that misfortune--I am a great replacement

The time yet to spend--it's fleeting
To be closer is only a wish
beloved flame will it ever unfold?

If measurement stopped our fleeting hours
If a humble ignorance to the space
we will forever dance upon the Earth

Yes, this is but a wish
though breathless--it does not try breathing
