The Diary Of An Eccentric Guy

The Diary Of An Eccentric Guy

A Story by Yusuf Qaizar
"

Nothing's worse than the feeling of rejection.

"
Dear diary,
What does one do when they find their long lost friend ?
I found a long lost friend of my childhood last summer and started living back the memories as I heard her. Her voice, face and gestures made me remember our time as children. Everybody craves to get back their childhood and she became my portal of memories, my secret door to the treasures of innocence, my rainbow leading to the pot of gold.
After so many years, meeting her made me understand her. Much more than what my amateur little brain would have when I was small. This was a beautiful reunion until, my heart decided to jump the barriers of friendship and take the obstacles as challenges.
I found her very much like me.
When she shared her problems, it coincidentally coincided with mine.
The society exclaims the best and questions the worst, but both of us belonged to the neglected section of the society, the section not defined, the section ignored. I was indifferent about it but she cared. That was a difference, and my mind could not bear this little flaw in the extreme brilliance of similarity. It started working towards ending it.
I wanted her to feel special and in the struggle I felt special.
There was one pumping organ that misunderstood this balance of symmetry with chaos of love. This started a war between the clan of facts and the faction of emotions. The war was intense and the end was uncertain. Until the judgment day.
Her mind perceived this act of friendship as an act out of desire for my good.
"It can never happen", and the war was over. No side won but I definitely lost.
With it the fear of losing the friend wandered over like clouds before a storm.
Now I'll stay here till the storm settles and I can see the lights.
If someday she finds you dear diary, make sure this page recites.

Always a good day when we find a good friend.

Even better if both are in similar places. Thank you for sharing the excellent story.

Your prose is eloquent. I enjoyed the story and felt a range of emotions as I read it. First the solace in finding a childhood friend and enjoying the shared memories, then the recognition of difference and the ultimate sense of loss. Excellent job. I also liked the use of the diary page.

Thank You.
Whatever I write comes out of my experience and feelings.
Good write Yusuf.
No one can really plan for our pasts to come back to our doorstep. Especially when that past rekindles something in us that we didn't know we had lost, and needed to remain.
Truly a sorrowful tale. Trying to nurture the relationship and hope to find a little nurturing in return. Then to be rewarded with less than imagined.
However the tale is ended with the hope and possibility that one day your doorstep may one day again be visited.
Very emotional piece. Hope to see more of it in the future!

Thank You!
Well written, flows effortlessly.
Everybody craves to get back their childhood and she became my portal of memories, my secret door to the treasures of innocence, my rainbow leading to the pot of gold. I love the imagery you use for revisiting elements of your innocent past, light-hearted feel.

And then you go onto phrasing the realities in a more simple and earth-bound manner that mirrors the contents.
"I was indifferent about it but she cared. That was a difference, and my mind could not bear this little flaw in the extreme brilliance of similarity."

I really enjoyed reading it :)
