Abbreviated Lyrics

Abbreviated Lyrics

A Poem by A. A. Zambrana
"

We know not what we love so dearly.

"

My favorite song
is made from concentrate
I have studied its lyrics
in their most condensed form

The acronyms fitting comfortably
in my palm

I cannot hum the tune
nor move to the rhythm

But I know the abbreviated letters
like the backs of my eyelids

and though I do not know
exactly what they stand for

I'm sure I have an idea

And though I do not recognize it
when its notes are played
and its strings are plucked
and its beat is drummed

I am proud to proclaim
my enlightenment
while still unable sing along

About
I'm only 19, I feel I'm too young to have a Biography. I think the most eloquent and honest biography I could assemble is quite simply interwoven in all of my poetry. Except that none of my poems ment.. more..
