Moonlight

Moonlight

A Poem by A. A. Zambrana

On the sunniest days
I know it's you calling
but I am so afraid of the night
I am curled up so tight
with all the other stones
cracked beside the sidewalk
that leads straight to you

I hope the midnight wind
will roll me back on track
roll me down the way to you
too scared to come undone
barely room enough for one
and inflated lungs

In the last right piece of my mind
i am hoping for that wind to come
to roll me down the way to you
because i can't unclench these bones
enough to breathe for you
i can't unclench these parts
enough to move

Though the night is longer than it is dark
i am afraid i couldn't find
the moonlight if i tried
because the light doesn't shine
so bright on this easy path

Last i saw before the fear took me down
was moonlit trees far away
swaying gently in the breeze
in the distance, in the open
but i am still afraid i couldn't find
the moonlight if i tried
because it doesn't shine so bright
on this man-made path of mine

Great poem with regards to fears...and embrasing them at last...although realizing we still may not be able to move forward.

Well done!

I'm only 19, I feel I'm too young to have a Biography. I think the most eloquent and honest biography I could assemble is quite simply interwoven in all of my poetry. Except that none of my poems ment.. more..
