Somebody Else

Somebody Else

A Poem by _mal

Coffee on the edges of his breath in her hair
as he whispers that being
fat and ugly doesn’t warrant ruining his shirt
pushing her off as she lets go to
wipe the blood off her arms on her legs
soft embarrassed smile and his mouth
curves downwards
she remembers his eye lashes
against her knees
light kisses brushing denim
curves to accommodate his familiar foot
as her kicks her back
wards and tells her to wash her hair

the piece is so vivid and the experience so unsettling. it takes me back to an emotional place and time i lived as a child. this makes me remember.

WOW! Beautifully sad, yet wonderfully written. You have such a way with words.

. there is absolutely no one on this site ... or any other for that matter ... who can write so courageously ... and skillfully ... this is a powerful, haunting and vivid image ... which is so close to reality ... that it's infinitely poetic ... even though it's incredibly poignant ... you are an inspiration ...
