Where I'm From

Where I'm From

A Poem by Aandon F.

Where I’m from

I am from fights and verbal assaults,

From a house surrounded by junked cars.

I am from cinnamon rolls in the morning,

From hunting late into the evening and stalking prey.

I am from ruining every great thing in my life,

From destroying lives and emotions.

I am from long lasting bar-b-q and slow smoking ribs,

from clear starry nights sitting on the hood of my truck.

I am from listening to toby keith and schools in many states,

From regrets and mistakes, begging for another chance

I am from a life of wasted time and useless possessions,

From working on cars and cleaning guns.

I am from wishing time away and wanting to leave,

From trying to disappear and not be remembered.

I am from night and day,

From love and hate.

I am from quiet nights and starry skies,

From burning passion and icy pain.

I am from myself.
