I Could Of Told You So

I Could Of Told You So

What if God said, I have given my all,

I’ve nothing left, for you, to give,

I have given it all to you my child,

Just so you could live.

And what you’ve done with it all,

Is squander, waste, and defile,

You didn’t bat an eye or blink,

You didn’t even smile.

Then you took from the others,

All the things I gave to them,

They were your sisters and your brothers,

Now their chances are very slim.

You see there is a limit to things,

And you have reached its end,

You took it out on your enemy,

Then took it on your friend.

So when I say we’ve done it all,

You act as though I’m wrong,

But its time I say,

To sing a brand new song.

And that song is that of love,

A waxing so very cold,

And you look me in the eye,

So you have become too bold.

If I were God, and told you this,

You still wouldn’t bat an eye,

That’s because you’ve lost real love,

And don’t know the reason why.

Well my friend, we are all God,

It takes us all you know,

It seems now, its way to late,

So I guess I told you so.
