You Have To Be Happy To See A Blessing

Sort of a depressed day

I’ve been told I have received blessings,

But how can one know they did?

One might say, having a child is a blessing,

But yet, I just see a kid.

I love my children dearly,

But blessings? I’m not so sure,

You see I’ve not seen happiness,

So nothing to me is pure.

Some may wonder, how this can be?

Not to see the beauty there,

But blessings are for happy people,

Which to me seems unfair.

I can not see a blessing yet,

No matter what I do,

Because I am not happy,

I’m always sad and blue.
