Little Did I know

(Verse 1)
We were the team they all talked about, quite an unpredicted pair
We turned the city inside out, and we knew we wouldn't stop there
We had our eye on the target take the world by storm
There was nothing to us that was out of the norm
Nor out of reach, nor out of sight, questions through the day answers by night

(Hook)
So when did you decide that this journey was fulfilled
That for all of our hopes and dreams it was surely time to be killed
You could have just been honest and left me with goodbye
But instead you chose to soar, and left me longing to fly

(Chorus)
Little did I know how quickly it could die
Never did you see the pain that you left me inside
Little do I care to fight for the friendship that quickly came and took flight
And no matter how much we learned from each other and the ways we came to grow
You just got up, called quits, and walked out on me without a souvenir left to show
If this is really how our story ends, if it's how you intend to go
Then I guess you're not the friend I thanked God you were
Little did I know

(Verse 2)
We  were the two who would change this place, the world as we know it now
We believed we could do anything and were soon gonna show them how
With our minds together we were out of sight
There was nothing to us not in our might
Nor out of hope, nor out of mind, nothing to us would be left behind

(Hook)
So when did you decide that this journey was fulfilled
That for all of our hopes and dreams it was surely time to be killed
You could have just been honest and left me with goodbye
But instead you chose to soar, and left me longing to fly

(Chorus 2)
Little did I know how quickly it could end
Correct me if I'm wrong, but you called me a friend
Little do I care to pray that from out of the blue we'll reunite someday
Cause no matter how much we learned from each other and the ways we came to grow
You just got up, called quits, and walked out on me without a souvenir left to show
If this is really how our story ends, if it's how you intend to go
Then I guess you're not the friend I thanked God you were
Little did I know

(Bridge)
I thought we were pair, we said we're in this together
And together was to last forever, there was nothing we could not weather
I thought we were a whole, there was nowhere we would not go
Not a feeling we two were afraid to show, but I need you now and you're on the go
I guess it would end soon little did I know

(Chorus 3)
Little did I know how quickly people change
Only true love leaves you, isn't that strange
Little do I care to say that I'm positively sure you'll need me one day
But because of how much we learned from each other, and the ways we came to grow
If there is ever a time when you need me there I promise I will show
Because that is a promise I made to you many, many years ago
I guess I will always be the friend I said I'd be
Little did I know
