Off Center

Off Center

A Poem by Adam Jordan Turner
"

Here is another country song I will not be singing but have written. My mom thinks it should be sung by a girl. She loves the song and says she can relate so I put her picture as the picture for the lyric. Hope you like!

"

 Off Center

(Chorus 1)
Sometimes I feel off center like I'm tipsy or drunk
Like I'm not quite a hero and as weak as a punk
Like I've reached my peak and I'm past my prime
Whatever happened to all the lost time
Please show me the way will you show me the light
Cause feeling off center leaves me cold, so cold at night

(Verse 1)
Everyday I work so hard to be me
But sometimes I'm not who I imagined I'd be
I'm a little out of tune and a little off key
And to notice it is a harsh reality

(Hook 1)
If I'm trying so hard then why do I fail
I've been reaching out so long to find my grail
Always hoping someday someone will tell my tale
I want to be larger than life and let my heart set sail

(Chorus 2)
But sometimes I feel off center like I'm stuck in the rain
A feeling I can't pinpoint but I know brings me pain
Like I'm stuck in the blue's or committed some crime
I'm feeling like I'll never get my moment to shine
So please show me the way will you show me the light
Cause feeling off center leaves me cold, so cold at night

(Verse 2)
All day long I tend to question myself
But I say believe in yourself and don't be left on the shelf
It's just at times I'm torn between fierce and forlorn
How do I find shelter from a self-inflicted storm

(Hook 2)
If I want to do well then why can't it be
Was there something along the path I simply failed to see
Did I take a wrong turn or leave a task incomplete
Why do the roads I leave behind shine brighter than me

(Chorus 3)
I feel so off center like I just missed my mark
Like I've been set on a journey to take on in the dark
I've been abusing myself being as cruel as can be
Never giving myself all the courage I need
So please show me the way will you show me the light
Cause feeling off center leaves me cold, so cold at night

(Bridge)
I know, I know I've got what it takes
I know, I know someday I'll be great
I know, I know these things take time
So now I'm in it to win it, time to take what's mine

(Chorus 4)
I was off center but I'm back on Pointe
No more feeling forlorn I've got my thoughts all conjoined
No more feeling sorry, no more pity me
I only pity the fool who thinks I'll ever be beat
Cause I've seen the way and I've been shown the light
Now feeling off center, to me, just doesn't seem right

(Refrain)
I was off center but I'm back on Pointe
No more feeling forlorn I've got my thoughts all conjoined
No more feeling sorry, no more pity me
I only pity the fool who thinks I'll ever be beat
Cause I've seen the way and I've been shown the light
Now feeling off center, to me, just doesn't seem right
Doesn't seem right
Feeling off center, to me, just doesn't seem right

I am a 20 year old artist. Writing is something I have always found interesting, and fun, however I did not take on the challenge until recently. I mostly write song lyrics, my mother is a lyricist, .. more..
