A Writer's Prayer

A Writer's Prayer

A Poem by Blue
"

Amen.

"
What shall I write, my muse?
What kind of ink abuse
shall I unto this paper bleed?
Dare write my fearless need?

What tale shall I expose
in poetry or prose,
scattered verses on a page,
language of my sanity in rage.

Guide my pen with fluid strokes.
Postpone your playful pranks and jokes.
Grant me an experienced hand
to tailor thoughts at your command.

"playful pranks and jokes" might refer to the annoyances writers often encounter. Writer's block for example.

Firstly, I like your profile pic and you are really pretty, secondly...I see your pen here guided you well and this writers prayer is good, should be said by all poets.

Thank you, Pryde!
When the Muse talks we must listen and write her thoughts down immediately before they disappear into the abyss… for the muse can be fickle when it comes to inspiring a poet, then again sometimes she is generous. I enjoyed your little ode to her.

Me, too. But most of the time, I tend to be literal. Thank you so much!

Thank you, QR!
Short and to the point. Some people take a while to get to the point with elegant words. You do it with just a few. Poems do not have to be long, just something to catch someone's interest. For yours is a point that everyone who writes considers those issues.

Brevity is beauty. But I'm trying to learn how to say so much in just a few words. Thank you, Donald.. read more
