I couldn't help but smile when I read this particularly because I recently went through a break-up with a guy and I definitely relate to this feeling. It's such a relief to have them gone, but when we are alone, our thoughts begin to remember them, things about them that we miss...things they would say to us, the tone they said it in. The feelings we felt whenever we were with them. Then again, it's probably best that they are gone probably because they really didn't deserve the you that they got to know and get close to. Some people fall in love with the wrong people and it's such a tragedy to see some people be so brought down, so shattered by someone else that they cannot go on. *Tsk, tsk* Such thought provoking stuff you write...really touching :)
