Appeal to a Peel

Appeal to a Peel

A Poem by Andrew John

The bite was a crunch.

So wonderful!

One᾽s teeth could do that kind of thing.

Some later bites, performed with age,

cause pain, so awful, so dreadful!

One᾽s bites can do that kind of thing.

But what was peel,

that part of the crunch and the munch?

Peeled off now, and thrown away.

Yet apples remain apples,

taste remains taste.

What is this thing called ever?

Ahh, I remember the juicy crunch of a red delicious in my younger days, that were somehow darker red and well, deliciouser.
This thing called ever will drag on a bit long for me though, so I'll just grab an early night and be ready for the reaper with my best pyjamas and slippers and wish you well in that ever thing, how ever it works out! 😊

Ah, thank you, Lorry. And enjoy that crunch, that munch, whatever you have for lunch.
Indeed, what is this thing called ever. Some apples aren’t delicious. Some are sharp and some are positively rotten to the core. There’s a whole lot more to this poem between the lines without even mentioning teeth and aging.

Oh, munch, crunch, and I do have a hunch (well, I do rather need some lunch). Thanks, Chris.
