He'll Find Someone New

He'll Find Someone New

A Poem by alexa.garrison

When we think about love,
We always want it to last forever.
Yet the brutal truth
Seems to tell us differently

You can give everything.
Mind, body, heart and soul
But after awhile, his love for you will fade
He'll give up and it will sting
Like a rubber band held by two individuals
When one lets go,
The other gets hit with the cruel, harsh pain.

You thought that love was forever,
Dreamt about your marriage and the future.
No one dreams of breaking up,
But love hurts and the truth sucks.

While you are thinking forever,
He thinks for now.
As you dream of him,
He dreams of only your body.
As you say you couldn't possibly love another,
He always searches for his next.
Finally, as you lie around,
Dreadfully pitiful and heartbroken,
He has already moved on,
He found someone else.

Nice free flowing poem. But i believe love can last forever.
But I admire your emotion and the expression. Nice work.
