My Tree

My Tree

A Poem by Exa Lectric
"

What will a tree do for someone who's hurt?

"

She said those words and I fell apart

Tears streamed down my red cheeks

I ran down the hill and into the valley

Where my tree of life grew unmoving

All of my tree’s life it grew up to the stars

As I leaned up against its large round trunk

I let all my tears flow down into her roots

My tree felt my pain wanting to help me

As I wept for myself, my tree wept for me

Lowering its branches from up with the stars

My tree took away my pain, trapping it inside

When the weeping willow cries .

Lovely poem. It reaches out to the soul. There is a comfort and beauty in nature that can heal the heart. Thank you for sharing such beautiful words. I am inspired to go hug a tree. The natives call them Standing People. As long as there are trees we shall never stand alone.

Well done!
