Writing Love on Foggy Windows

Writing Love on Foggy Windows

A Poem by Alice Poésy
"

Heartbreak Records #3//When his eyes speak and voice breaks worse than mine.

"
"There's a cavity in my chest
where you come and go,
lighting fires up to my eyes.

Your damp eyes hang
in tiny droplets of torture
and I stroke your face saying,
'Baby, we'll be all right,'

but I know there's an emptiness
between your bones that
I can't start to saturate,
breaking your heart
before we even began.

Vapour collects in my chest;
baby, you can stay here tonight,
writing stories about us in the fog
and kiss until the air becomes so warm
our words melt and fall victim to mortality

like our love."

The light's falling like a golden chiaroscuro on his face, illuminating the broken amber in his eyes, and his arms reach out and tug onto my shirt.

so hard to get one to trust us when he or she has been hurt so many times...hard to convince that person that we are not the one who brought heartbreak in the first place...we are not the other.

i have been in a few relationship where that has worked both ways at the same time...and that left us at quite an impasse.

Ah, such wise words, Jacob. Chain reactions and vicious cycles can be our biggest enemies.

This poem is unique in how you limn inner body rather than the out. It's like I don't even know what the characters look like, I just know who they are inside - amazing! And the second verse was so emotionally powerful. Great write!

You're most welcome. :)
a beautifully written rollercoaster ride of a day in the life of two hearts and the tug that makes heartstrings ache. The highs an unimaginable thought, only made the more fearful for how far it is to drop into the lows. Superb.

Awesome write, it reads so well and goes deep. I loved to imagine all of those scenes and the emotions tied to them, reading your writings it's always as if I'm a part of it, part of the scenes you created with words. I think that's a great talent; turning the reader into a protagonist. For some writes it's just like they're written well and even carrying feelings yet the reader stays a mere observer or flat repeater of the words, not in your case. Btw even your author's note reads so highly lovable and poetic, words like this haunt me in a good way. Always such a pleasure to read your writings.
