Little Bird

Little Bird

A Story by Alice Allen

The little bird amidst the leaves on an autumn treetop gazing down at the sorrows and bustles of the teeming city below. He asks himself, "why must I be so insignificant?". For a while he sat there, pondering this thought when onto the branch stepped another little bird, just like himself, yet prettier. The young lady bird sat down beside him, watching him in admiration. She gently spoke, "you may not be important in the eyes of all those people below, but you sure are a whole lot important to me and to the world."

With that, the little bird looked directly into her glistening beady eyes, gave her a sweet peck on her yellow beak, and together they flew into the marine sky, side by side.
